It seems that some people still don't get how tariffs works, so I made this silly thing to visually understand it. I make this "things" just for pleasure and to keep the design neurone active. It is a silly chart, no hidden intentions. #infographics #tariff #graphic (Note: you can change the flags to any other countries, it works the same)

Edit: In step one, where it says ‘to a foreign...’ it should read ‘from a foreign...’ damn my broken English!

Diagram explaining the steps of how import tariffs works. Each step reads: 1 - Importer company purchases item to a foreign company 2 - Foreign company sends item in exchange for the money 3 - Item is retained in a customs warehouse and tariff invoice is send to importer company 4 - Importer company send money to customs agency to pay the tariff 5 - Customs receive tariff money from importer and release the item 6 - The importer receives the item, adds the cost of the tariff to the price to avoid losing money and also adds a sales margin because a company needs to make money. 7 - You purchase the item. The price includes item cost, importer benefit margins, and the tariff cost. Importer just passed tariff upon you. The last image on the chart is a person holding a package and saying "I love losing money"

I always gush about @ZLabe and his account, because for one thing it makes the data he works with more accessible (via #ActivityPub), but secondly because the #infographics he stares are very informative - and consistent.

Are there any other #science, #edutainment and #infographic accounts on the #fediverse that has similar consistent and qualify of posts? Think content that is fairly easily digestible during a scroll.

We're looking for the accounts that #TeachTheFediverse.

Those #vectorgraphics are known as #infographics or #schematics to a few #computer #graphic #geeks. #IT's how #SuperPaint worked #1973 for the first #digital #artists. Deeply embedded #CGI #irony is that this #legendary #image-editor is reconstructed in #vector #tech, not #pixel. The #Art work isn't realized with #Xerox #InterPress, nor #Adobe #Illustrator / #PostScript, but made with #opensource #FreeSoftware #Inkscape and #SVG
