This is from back when I was obsessed with fountain pens, fude nibs and ink drawings! I had fun sketching some crows/ravens and some pretty nature!

Tried some night illustration again yesterday. Figuring out how to represent the stars in overcast and/or light-polluted night skies is proving to be a bit of a math problem. I fucked up the scaled placement of the stars here as well: ⅔rd of the Summer Triangle looks fairly okay to me, but Ras Algethi and Ras Alhague needed to be spaced out more and aligned better, and Antares way more to the right-side margin.

You can also see where I got tired of plotting out the fine foliar detail and rushed the conclusion I'm just getting started and I'm focused on having fun and not being mean to myself anymore, so I felt like I could just do that once in a while. Vega and Altair were big on the east-northeast when I was wrapping up for bed, almost up on the celestial meridian. Couldn't find Deneb Adige, but I thought I could see Polaris and Eltanin.

Saw this broken down #apecar the other day and had to make a drawing!

Edit: looks like this was not a Ape Car, but another model, and Ape TM.

Most of the windows and lights are missing. Some old pallets are stacked on top of it, and plants and grasses are growing all around it.

Karsamstag kaufe ich bei Modern Graphics im Untergeschoss des Europacenter einen Band von Taiyo Matsumoto und erkaufe mir dann mit einer üppigen Bestellung beim Coffee Bike im Erdgeschoss einen der raren Plätze in den (für Kunden reservierten) Ledersessel. Ich blättere im Manga und bewundere die lebendigen und klaren Tuschezeichnungen Matsumoto’s, ohne zu lesen. Ich lege das Buch zur Seite und nehme Papier, Pinsel und Tusche aus der Tasche.
‘Radio Teddy’ veranstaltet ein Osterspiel vor einer großen aufgeblasenen Teddyfigur in der zentralen Halle der Mall. Dazu gibt es Basteltische und verkleidete Stelzenläufer.
Leute tauchen auf, verschwinden wieder, in der Halle laufen alle hin und her, Spiegelstreifen unter den Geländern der Galerien vervielfältigen die Architektur. Meine Zeichnung gerät durcheinander. Ich wollte eigentlich mal ordentlich sein.

On Holy Saturday, I buy a volume by Taiyo Matsumoto at Modern Graphics in the basement of the Europacenter and then buy one of the rare seats in the leather armchairs (reserved for customers) with a generous order at the Coffee Bike on the ground floor. I leaf through the manga and admire Matsumoto’s vivid and clear ink drawings without reading. I put the book aside and take paper, brush and ink out of my bag.
‘Radio Teddy’ is organising an Easter game in front of a large inflated teddy figure in the central hall of the mall. There are also craft tables and stilt walkers in costume.
People appear and disappear again, everyone runs to and fro in the hall, mirror strips under the railings of the galleries duplicate the architecture. My drawing gets mixed up. I actually wanted to be tidy for once.
