A drive up Glenshee today (to the cafe and gift shop so I could get goat burgers), led us to venturing across the moors to Pitlochry. Approaching a celtic cross on that road reminded me of the time I was chased by an angry sheep when I had a nosey at the cross....oh the memories.
It has been years since I have been in Pitlochry for a wander about. A lovely walk along the river to the dam and lunch in the visitor centre.
Heading back to the car, we went via the train station and discovered the amazing Pitlochry Station Bookshop. On getting home, I looked at their website. The bookshop is actually within the station in the old shop and station masters office. Scotrail allow them to use the space rent free, so they only have to pay for insurance and electricity. Since the shop opened, they have raised almost half a million pounds for 6 charities that they support. The bookshop is an absolute gem and one I will definitely visit again.
Another toot will follow about the other adventures today.
