I just had an interesting jitsi call with Ethan Timothy, founder of @ehsenvironmentalclub1 (SSN) in Uganda.

SSN are working with schools in central Uganda to promote sustainable agriculture and are just getting started with a small commercial plot to help fund their work.

@jonathan_worth @doctorow I want a #SmartWatch with an open OS - which doesn't seem to be a key focus here. They only talk about an "open ecosystem for developers", but don't provide any further details, whether this refers just to the SDK or whether this addresses the whole software stack (firmware, OS, apps,...).

Being able to use a device, even after its vendor gave up on it - that's IMHO a key aspect of more #sustainability when it comes to electronic devices.

Communal housing, multi-generational housing, housing for religious communities, intentional community housing, and other forms of collaborative living arrangements are going to be a big part of the future, when corporations buy up more and more housing and make it more and more unaffordable.

Co-housing doesn't have to be rural or involve a lot of farming, either.
