April 14, 2025. Wolverine Lake, Michigan.

The first short spur seablush (Plectritis congesta) are in bloom. Beautiful small flower growing on a bed of moss on the shore.

Today's Timeline cleanser is a macro detail of a butterfly Vanessa cardui on Eupatorium cannabinum.

I love these creatures! Some look very cute, some a bit monstrous and some, like this one, look like they came out of a comic book. But with their wings they are all beautiful!

In my pursuit of trying out different local trails beyond my favorites, I hiked a trail today that went around this picturesque lake. A few weeks ago, I hiked a long, straight trail from a distant trailhead to/from this lake. Looking to combine the two into a substantial "lollipop" loop in the future. This area has so many nice trails! #hiking #nature

Drei gute Dinge des Tages:

* alle Aufregung und Vorfreude auf den ersten Arbeitstag haben sich gelohnt. Obwohl es ein sehr emotional und anstrengender Dienst war

* wenn alles gut geht, wird K1 über Ostern aus dem Krankenhaus entlassen

* am Nachmittag, ein stilles Plätzchen gefunden, wo ich vom Tage abschalten
konnte
