Ach. Heute ist und -Tag! Seit 2008 liegt dieser Klassiker Dank der überragenden Arbeit von Susanne Lange in einer vorbildlichen Übersetzung und Edition (Anmerkungen, Nachwort) vor.
Abgesehen von den ganzen Slapstick- und Phantastik-Einlagen mein Höhepunkt: Überlegungen zu Studium, Waffenkunst und Wissenschaft, Buch I, ab letzten Drittel Kap. 37 f.
Als Taschenbuch ein Schnäppchen.

#datocurioso EL YELMO DE MAMBRINO

Según lo describe #Cervantes en su obra del #Quijote, es un yelmo de oro puro que hacía invulnerable a su portador, supuestamente perteneció a un ficticio rey moro llamado Mambrino, los expertos en el tema aclaran que Mambrino en realidad es una referencia de Miguel de Cervantes a otro escritor, en este caso a Mambrino Roseo da Fabriano, un escritor italiano quien tradujo a lengua toscana el texto de Amadís de Gaula, un texto clasico de aventuras y caballeros andantes, segun se narra en El Quijote de La Mancha, el yelmo de Mambrino es un objeto magico, ya que se decía que la posesión del casco era la ambición de todos los grandes guerreros y luchadores a favor de la justicia.
Cuenta Cervantes en el Quijote que un dia, un barbero que estando desarropado bajo la lluvia se protege utilizando como sombrero su bacía (una vasija generalmente de metal brillante con una muesca por donde se metía la barba al afeitado y que se ha estado usando hasta tiempos recientes). 

Don Quijote insiste entonces en que ese cuenco es el yelmo encantado del rey moro y finalmente se lo roba al barbero, pues desea obtenerlo con el fin de hacerse invulnerable. Es esa una de las escasas aventuras en las que el hidalgo sale con buen fin. Al ceñirse este aditamento de barbero, tan poco caballeresco, la figura del caballero era mas ridícula a cada momento, solo el Quijote quien estaba enagenado con los cuentos de caballeros, magos, hechiceros y nobles querreros andantes era quien veía como un yelmo de gran poder lo que realmente es un aditamento comun de barberia, en este caso una Bacia.

Ya esta bien de abusar del ciudadano bajo el paraguas de la ley de turno.

Concretamente algunos #administradoresdefincas incrementan gastos mediante las actas. Los textos empleados son ambiguos y confusos. Diseñados para enriquecer el lucro del bolsillo del administrador mediante presupuestos inflados, intereses obligados, y/ o cuotas infladas. Que por mayoría de ignorantes se aprueba.

Parece mentira que la # hacienda y la #agenciaTributaria gire la cabeza a este tipo de abusos, porque sí es robar.

Muchos comuneros ni se enteran. No así con los #abogados #economistas #contables #políticos #ejecutivos

Las #comunidasdesdepropietarios deben de tener la sartén por el mango y no dejarse manipular en ningún caso por el administrador, este solo es un consejero legal con unos honorarios pactados.

Over the weekend I finished the first part (book) of Cervantes' Don Quixote with the Edith Grossman translation. Beyond being an enjoyable read, it's much more an illumination of the human condition than I expected. It's more than a tale about Don Quixote, it's also the tales of the lives and times of the people that he meets.

It is of us, today, written 400 years ago. There are tales of love, betrayal, jealousy, greed, cruelty, stupidity, hypocrisy, and naturally, for the time, the idealized religious views of woman, men, and marriage. It is us, looking in a mirror.

The basic premise is the story of a man driven mad by his delusions of knights and chivalry through his reading of such books and believing that what he's read are in fact true stories, "otherwise, why would they have been allowed to be published?", he asks the unbelievers he meets. Sound familiar?

I'm looking forward to starting the second part tonight.

On "Don Quixote" by Cervantes

I recently started reading "Don Quixote" by Cervantes, with the newest translation by Edith Grossman. She's a well respected and accomplished translator who has been said to have made Cervantes' story and characters more vibrant and the translation more modern.

It's been on my list to read for quite some time. I'm really enjoying the book and the antics of Don Quixote and his Squire Sancho Panza. Yesterday, I was laughing out loud at the story that Sancho was relating to Don Quixote of the goatherd who was trying to get his 300 goats across a river.

It does take a bit to get used to the writing style of Cervantes but it's surprisingly easy to do and nothing like adjusting to the slog of some early English and 18th century American authors. That's surely due to Grossman's translation skills.
