@Lynnd @alan @vernilla @bookstodon Two of my favourite #CanadianWriters who have produced many wonderful #CanadianBooks are Wayne Johnston and Guy Vanderhaeghe. Both are prolific but Johnston's The Mystery of Right and Wrong is exceptional as is Vanderhaeghe's August Into Winter.

Has a hashtag developed for Canadian Writers yet? Both #CanadianBooks and #CanadianWriters seem to have zero posts and my surveillance of Dark Side Social Media indicates that for some totally unknown reason, there's been a sudden upsurge of interest in Canadian books.
It seems to me that if we can get organized, this would be a great way to attract those people to the fediverse.
Picked up a free copy of this wonderful book from a fellow local free library that's a few blocks from my home. It's in mint condition. One of several #books on my reading wishlist.

[David A. Robertson is an author and graphic novelist based in Winnipeg. The multi-talented writer of Swampy Cree heritage has published several books across a variety of genres, including picture books On the Trapline and When We Were Alone, graphic novel Breakdown, and his memoir Black Water, which won two 2021 Manitoba Book Awards.
Robertson is the winner of the 2021 Freedom to Read Award. He was also the host of the CBC Edmonton podcast Kiwew.
